Eve Pienaar – Overview

Very experienced and highly respected, Eve is a full time commercial mediator whose practice includes a wide variety of property, construction, commercial, professional negligence and international mediation cases. Eve is also an experienced workplace mediator and facilitator, whose clients vary from multinational corporates to partnership and higher education institutions.

Eve is a lawyer by background, working with Clifford Chance before moving to senior General Counsel roles with international organisations, including the RICS and RIBA. Eve was accredited by CEDR in 2007 and was invited to join the CEDR commercial mediator panel in 2008. She has worked on hundreds of commercial mediations since then. Eve has been working on CEDR Faculty, as mediator Coach and Assessor, since 2012. Eve also promotes the CEDR Independent Accountability Mechanism for use in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) grievances. Eve is a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council.

Eve also works on mediation project work, from complex and multi-party disputes spanning a number of weeks or months, to structured team facilitation work over time.  These cases require careful process design, working closely with the stakeholders at each stage of the project.  The number and format of meetings are adapted to the needs of each case, building on the inherent flexibility of mediation.

Eve is a passionate advocate for mediation and regularly contributes to publications, speaking events and training webinars. She is happy to run mediation awareness training for clients and law firms, to share her belief in the power of mediation.  Eve is a fluent French speaker and mediates cases in French speaking countries.
